Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces have lost seven ships and one submarine. The success is reported by the UNITED24 platform, which a year ago, on the initiative of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, started collecting funds for a fleet of maritime drones.

The Ukrainian wars damaged or completely destroyed the cruiser “Moscow”, the large landing ship “Minsk”, the landing ship “Olenegorski Gornyak”, the landing ship “Saratov”, the corvette “Askold”, the landing craft “Serna” class, the landing ship “Shark class” , as well as the submarine “Rostov-on-Don”.
The first successful target for Ukrainian forces was the cruiser Moskva, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. It was hit by Neptune anti-ship missiles on April 13, 2022. The next day the ship sank 150 km from Odessa. According to media reports, there may have been two nuclear warheads on board the ship.
5 months later, on the night of September 12-13, 2023, in the dry dock in Sevastopol, the large landing ship “Minsk” was attacked by Ukrainian forces, which caused it to suffer serious damage that made it practically impossible to repair. At the same time, at the same place and time, the diesel-electric submarine “Rostov-on-Don” was attacked. These attacks were carried out using Storm Shadow air-to-surface missiles.

“Olenegorsky Miner” was shot down as a result of a joint operation of the SBU and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Gulf of Novorossiysk. A maritime surface drone filled with 450 kg of TNT was used to carry out the combat mission. It later turned out that as a result of the impact, a hole with a diameter of three meters was created in the ship’s hull, partly below the waterline.
On March 24, 2023, the landing ship Saratov was destroyed in the Russian-occupied port of Berdyansk. Then, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used the Tochka-U tactical missile – as a result of the impact, a large-scale fire broke out on the ship.
The corvette “Askold” was shot down on November 4, 2023 in temporarily occupied Kerch. According to experts, a SCALP-EG missile was aimed at the Russian ship, which caused critical damage to important components of the ship.
A few days later, on November 10, Ukraine destroyed the Serna and Akula class ships using naval drone attacks. At that time they were located near the village of Chernomorskoye. According to the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrei Yusov, the operation of the Ukrainian services was extremely successful, and Russia will have difficulty replacing these sunken ships.
