The Hungarian government also unilaterally extended the ban on imports of food products from Ukraine.
– It is important to prove that these actions are wrong from a legal point of view. And that is why we will start legal proceedings tomorrow, Ukraine’s trade representative Taras Kachka told Politico, adding that Kiev is preparing to retaliate against Polish exports of fruit and vegetables.
– These arbitrary restrictions are ridiculous – Kachka said.
“If Ukraine goes to a trade war with Poland, it will mean that The Cossacks have lost their minds. The political decision to admit Ukraine to the EU has probably already been made, and the West is mentally ready for it. Well, they will have negotiations in the area of agriculture with the participation of Poland. Madness. In an extreme scenario, accession is delayed by several years” – wrote on Twitter Cezary Kaźmierczak, president of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers, vice-chairman of the Social Dialogue Council.
Let us recall that the embargo on imports of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia was introduced by the European Commission at the beginning of May. Initially, the ban lasted until June 5, and then was extended until September 15.
