The death was announced shortly later. The 24-year-old joined KF Egnatia in January this year. He moved from the Swiss league. Years ago, he was the star of the Swiss FC Zürich. It was associated with a move to the Islands.
Dwaemena, who came to Europe in 2014 and has, among others, appearances in Austria Lustenau, FC Zurich, Real Zaragoza, he played nine times for the Ghana national team, and this season he was the leader of the Albanian league scorers with nine goals, he already had heart problems.
He once had a heart attack and returned to the field after having a defibrillator implanted. Local media recalled that The Ghanaian had already fainted twice on the pitch – in Linz and Zaragoza. However, there was also information that in 2018 he decided to remove the defibrillator because he believed that the device caused discomfort.
The Albanian Football Federation, which also confirmed the player’s death, canceled all matches scheduled in the country for this weekend. (PAP/own study)
