The November training camp of the Polish national team is slowly coming to an end. The White and Reds completed the qualifying rounds for Euro 2024 with Friday’s match against the Czech Republic (1-1). In the match against our southern neighbors, Michał Probierz made some changes compared to the previous matches, which aroused a lot of emotions. Former Polish representative Waldemar Matysik assessed the coach’s decision in an interview with TVP Sport. “It’s hard to explain rationally,” he said.

The Polish national team was completely unsuccessful in qualifying for next year’s European Championships. On Friday, the White and Reds played the last qualifying match against the Czech Republic 1-1. In eight matches, the team scored only 11 points and lost the chance to directly advance to the event in Germany. Our team will play in the play-offs in the spring. It is therefore not surprising that a wave of criticism fell on the team.

The Polish national team was brutally summed up. “I can not imagine”

The November appointments of Michał Probierz aroused a lot of emotions. There were many sensational decisions. One of them was the omission of Arkadiusz Milik. Touchstone chose other strikers: Buksa, Lewandowski and Świderski. Jan Bednarek also returned to the team, who played alongside Paweł Bochniewicz and Jakub Kiwior in the match against the Czechs, which shows that the defensive formation will be significantly changed in terms of personnel compared to the previous clashes.

The bronze medalist from the World Cup in Spain scores Touchstone points. “It’s hard to explain rationally”

Probierz’s personal choices were assessed by the bronze medalist of the World Cup in Spain in 1982, Waldemar Matysik, in an interview with “TVP Sport” . – The coach surprised us with the squad. Only Jakub Kiwior remained among the defenders. Jan Bednarek and Paweł Bochniewicz were not present at the first training camp, and in the match against the Czech Republic they immediately joined the starting eleven. I’m not saying it’s bad because they both played decently. Coach Probierz recently took over the team and is trying to look for different solutions. It’s good that he’s trying something different, new, and not repeating the choices of his predecessors, he said.

The former Polish representative does not understand why Sebastian Szymański appeared on the pitch only in the 85th minute in the match against the Czech Republic. – He played eleven minutes in added time… If he was left on the bench, it would at least seem that he would be the first substitute. Meanwhile, he was the last one… It’s hard to explain it rationally, because if we had to win at all costs, Szymański should undoubtedly be in the squad. He simply wasn’t given enough time to change anything, he added.

There will be play-offs in March. Matysik is not optimistic about them. If we continue to perform like this in March during the play-offs, it will be very difficult to advance. Even if by some miracle we win it, we have nothing to look for at the tournament in Germany. Then it’s better not to go to Euro and calmly build the team for the next qualifiers – he concluded.

The Polish national team will end the November training camp with a friendly match against Latvia. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 21 at 8:45 p.m.
