The weather is improving in Kashmir and there is no danger of floods

SRINAGAR, April 21 (IANS) After three days of moderate to heavy rains, the weather started to improve in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday as the water levels of all major and minor rivers in the valley started to fall.
Due to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of the Jhelum and other streams, the water level has risen to alert the levels in these water bodies.
“The weather has already started to improve and there is no possibility of heavy rain in J&K in the next 72 hours,” said an official with the Meteorological Department.
The improved weather has added to the cheer of the locals who are looking forward to celebrating Eid tomorrow.
Today the minimum temperature in Srinagar was 6.2, Pahalgam 3.5 and Gulmarg minus 1C.
In Ladakh district, the minimum temperature in Kargil was minus 2.2 and minus 2.6.
The minimum temperature in Jammu was 15, Katra 13.1, Patoti 6.7, Banihal 5.1 and Bhadiroh 6.1.
