The Left announced the submission of a bill on the liberalization of abortion under parliamentary procedure to the Sejm at the first session of the new term. This is about the right to terminate pregnancy up to the 12th week.
— We do not withdraw our demands regarding abortion. I believe that we will quickly process the bills we submit in the Sejm – Krzysztof Gawkowski, head of the Left club, told PAP.
The left is submitting bills regarding abortion, but they are aware that they need a majority to do so. — We assemble them ourselves, because today the majority is not there. If it were, we would include it in the coalition agreement, Gawkowski said.
— But we also know perfectly well that we need to talk, convince and discuss with partners. We do not withdraw from our demands, we know that we need 231 votes, we know that the Civic Coalition supports us. This is the beginning of the road, I believe that we will quickly process these bills and that the new Speaker of the Sejm will submit them to the first reading – he added.
