DANBAD, July 12 (IANS) A Rashtriya worker Swayamsevak Sangh was shot dead by unknown assailants in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand state, an official said on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Prasad, a resident of Duma village, who was also the work chief in the area for the Sangh’s Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra district organisation.
The accident happened on Tuesday when Shankar Prasad was on his way from his home to Shahrapura.
He also served as a team member of the Village Defense Force.
Police said the cause of the killing was not yet known.
Ravindra Pandey, BJP MP, and RSS workers are calling for the culprits to be caught.
