To install iOS 17, you must first download it to your device. This requires approximately 5-6 GB of free disk space, depending on the model you have. If you don’t have that much free space, you need to free it up. For this purpose, you can e.g.
- remove unused applications,
- or delete or send to iCloud some photos and videos.
If you don’t know if you have enough disk space, go to Settings -> General –> iPhone (memory). There you can see not only the number of free gigabytes, but also what the free space is used for, which may suggest what is worth getting rid of.
It’s also a good idea to back up your device’s contents. By default, it is turned on automatically and runs itself cyclically. However, it is worth making a manual backup just before updating. To do this, enter Settings -> Apple ID profile -> iCloud -> iCloud Backup -> Back up now.
Installing iOS 17 is very simple. Enter in Settings -> General -> Updates. There, at the appropriate time, information should appear about the availability of a new version of the system, which should then be downloaded. It is worth remembering that installing the update will only be possible when your phone’s battery will be charged at least 50% or 20% when the smartphone is connected to the charger.
