Shimla, July 17 (IANS) One person was killed and three others injured after a cloudburst caused havoc in villages in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh early Monday, officials said.
The disaster occurred near the village of Kayas in Rayson. According to the state emergency operations center here, one person was killed on the spot and three injured while being swept away in a vehicle.
The dead have been identified as Badal Sharma, a resident of Chansari village in Padar Tahsil, Kullu.
“The road has been closed and JCB has fanned out to reopen it,” she added.
It was reported that many houses and shops were partially damaged due to flooding in the vicinity of the disaster site.
Raison is a riverside location 15 km from Kullu and 26 km before Manali.
