JAIPUR, April 10 (IANS) Congress appears to be preparing an action plan to tackle emerging challenges after former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot announced a one-day fast to protest the inaction of the Jahlot government over the corruption charges leveled against CM Vasundhara. Raji.

Sukhwinder Singh Randhawa, in charge of Rajasthan, is expected to visit the state in a day or two. The sources said he also requested the letters that the pilot had sent to the prime minister.

Randhawa described Pilot’s action as hasty. Speaking to the media, he also said that Pilot never discussed the issue of his unanswered letters from the Prime Minister with him.

The pilot renewed his attacks on Ashok Jahlot and the announcement of a quick protest comes at a time when polling is only a few months away.

The pilot played old videos of CM Gehlot accusing the then BJP ministry of graft. The pilot announced its one-day suspension on April 11 to pressure the Congress-led government to take action on the issue, before it faces the public during General Assembly elections scheduled for later this year.

He told reporters in Jaipur, “When facts and evidence about alleged corruption came to us when we were in the opposition, I think it is still there even after the formation of the government.”

The pilot was the Congress President of Rajasthan when he, along with Gehlot, filed a host of alleged corruption cases against Raje, which included a 45,000 crore mine appropriation fraud by the then BJP government.

He reminded his government of its “zero tolerance” for corruption and said “no action was taken even after my suggestion”.

He said the Gehlot government had failed to act against the excise, mining and land mafia in the state and in the Lalit Modi affidavit case also related to Raje’s alleged investments in the projects of the former IPL chief.
