J&K Police arrests a gang of inter-regional thieves

SRINAGAR, April 18 (IANS) Police in Srinagar on Tuesday said they had busted a gang of thieves between districts and seized stolen items in their possession.
Police said that on March 3, a robbery was reported from Ratapura Baghat in which thieves broke into a house and took jewelry and cash.
The FIR was recorded and the police station issued an investigation.
“During the investigation, 11 thieves running an inter-district gang were arrested. The stolen items including 168 grams of gold in the form of jewellery, Rs 70,000 in cash, two cars and a motorbike were recovered from their possession.
“The gang was run by three brothers from the same house, who closely coordinated these thefts in different areas,” the police said.
