It’s social freedom versus individual freedom in the “Panne” trailer.
MUMBAI, May 18 (IANS) The trailer for the upcoming political feature film “Pani” was revealed on Thursday. The series, directed by Ram El-Alady, is a patriotic drama directed at women, dating back to the post-independence period.
The film begins with bodies lying in the water as the frame cuts between the swearing-in ceremony and the thrilling sequences that form the cornerstone of the trailer before it plunges into a story full of political and social turmoil.
As seen in the trailer, the post-independence era ‘Panne’ focuses on freedom, friendship, betrayal, and social freedom versus individual freedom portrayed through various characters from the series.
Speaking about the same, director Ram Eladi said: Working on “Panne” was a life-changing experience, after receiving a tremendous response on the teaser and poster, I look forward to the audience witnessing our individual interpretations of social and personal identity on an individual basis. Lifestyle, which also contains a basic plot introduction and a glimpse into the main characters”.
He further stated: “As I said earlier, Panne is a cyclical fairy tale in post-independence India. It’s about freedom, it’s about friendship and betrayal, it’s about social imbalances, it’s about ‘change’ and it’s about a war between ‘us’ and ‘us'”.
Starring emerging Indian talents Kalpana Tiwari, Pankaj Munshi, Anand Rangarajan, Vijaya Pusala, Silpa Das, Prasad Kamalanabha and Sam Mukherjee, ‘Pani’ is in English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam and is shot in Hyderabad and Warangal.
