IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals win by hurling, opt to play first against unchanged Punjab Kings
Dharamsala, May 19 (IANS) Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the toss and elected first against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the do-or-die IPL 2023 match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Ground, here on Friday.
In a last-minute change, RR’s Ravichandran Ashwin missed Friday’s match due to a back spasm. On the other hand, PBKS has not changed.
“We’ll sit down. Looking at the dimensions and looking at what we need in the tournament, you better bow down. We need to win the match. Then see how the other games go. If you want to play T20 cricket well, you need to forget about things.
“We had four to five days off. One has to understand the terms. We’ve got some changes. Last minute changes. Ashwin misses the opportunity with a back spasm,” Samson said at the throw.
PBKS captain Shekhar Dhawan: “Last match, dew wasn’t much. Batting first or second, it shouldn’t change much. We’ll come and enjoy the game. We’ll try to do our best. We need to take more wickets in the first 6 overs. We can Earn more. We play with the same team.”
