After the PlayStation Store leak, it was announced yesterday (November 18, 2023) in the morning The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PlayStation 5. It adds everything we would expect from a solid update: native 4K in performance mode, code rewritten for fast SSD, fantastic accessibility options, support for all the DualSense bells and whistles. There are also a lot of good supplements telling about the development of the game, for example.

Does The Last of Us Part II remaster have better graphics?

The creators from Naughty Dog promise improved textures, better models, including more accurate LODs (objects seen from a distance), nicer shadows. You can probably see it all in 4K, but what does it look like so far?

As always, fans come to the rescue, who created their own comparisons of Remastered’s graphics with scenes from The Last of US Part II. And well… See for yourself:

In my opinion, these are differences that will be noticed mainly by people playing in high resolutions on larger TVs – something like IMAX versus a regular cinema screen. All the better that Naughty Dog will offer the update to current owners for $10 (approximately PLN 45-50).

The premiere of The Last of Us Part II Remastered is scheduled for January 19, 2024.
