As of October 26, Wisła has a new coach. This is the third trainer this year. Pavol Stano worked with the team until May 13, then the team was taken over by Marek Saganowski, who did not save the top league for Płock, and the club said goodbye to him on October 25. The next day, the team was taken over by Żuraw.
After one training session, Wisła, with a new coach on the bench, defeated the last team in the table – Chrobry Głogów – 2-1 at home, and a week ago it won a valuable 2-2 draw with Lublin after a match with Motor. In total, they won and drew five matches during the season and suffered four defeats.
On Saturday, the Płock team will host Odra. The rival is doing great this season – he has eight wins, three draws and three losses. Two of the three defeats were recorded in the last two rounds – they lost 0-2 to Motor away and 0-3 to Górnik Łęczna in front of their own audience.
Żuraw did not want to speculate whether the leader was in crisis.
“The rivals are in first place in the table, so they certainly cannot be underestimated. They lost two matches, we know that because we also watched them, we analyze their current form and squad, but also how they played in them. We are very focused and we would like to , after the victory over Chrobry and the point won against Motor, we will try for another win,” the coach announced.
The history of meetings between both teams is not long. Wisła and Odra have met only six times so far. Four times in the second league, and the last two games were played in the first league, in the 2008/09 season. In six matches, the Oilers won four, there was a draw once, and the team from Opole came out on top once.
