The injury suffered by Gavi in the Euro 2024 qualifying match is so serious that the 19-year-old may not play again this season. What’s more, the midfielder may also miss the European Championships and the Olympic Games.
Spanish media, citing sources in the Spanish federation (RFEF), unanimously report that Gavi tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. This means that he will have an approximate break of 6 to 8 months.
If the RFEF or Barcelona confirm this with an official announcement, Gavi He will not appear on the field again in the 2023/24 season. He will also not take part in Euro 2024 and the Olympic Games in Paris.
