NEW DELHI, April 17 (IANS) – A woman in her 80s has died after an alleged accidental fire at her home in Dilhis Mohan garden area, an official said Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday and the dead person has been identified as Kasturi (80).
According to the police, information was received on Sunday regarding burn injuries of a person at Mohan Garden Police Station, after which a police team rushed to the site.
“Police found an unconscious woman with burns on the first floor of the apartment building,” said M Harsha Vardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka).
Forensic teams have been dispatched to the site. The walls are completely covered in smoke, and the other fixtures are also in a burnt state,” the official said.
“She has retired as an MCD employee and has been living here on her own. The preliminary investigation indicates that there was an accidental fire,” said the official, who is familiar with the investigation, adding that no one has raised any suspicion and investigation procedures are underway.
