7 million internally displaced in Ukraine amid war
Kyiv, April 11 (IANS) An estimated 7 million Ukrainians are internally displaced by the Russo-Ukrainian War.
Among them, about 4.8 million people are officially registered with government agencies as internally displaced persons, Interfax-Ukraine news agency quoted Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshuk as saying.
Vereshchuk noted that about a million children have been forced to leave their homes because of the war, but they reside within Ukraine.
According to the latest UN estimates, more than 8.1 million people have fled Ukraine to European countries after the start of the war.
