Time flies inexorably, because in less than a month we will be able to watch the annual The Game Awards gala, during which the best game of the past 12 months will be selected.
During a break from handing out awards in individual categories, there will of course be time to present new, previously undisclosed projects and present materials from productions that we have already heard about. Speaking about this group, I decided to highlight 5 titles that have been very quiet lately. Too quiet, which means that I would like the following projects to come out of the shadows and their creators to present their gems at TGA 2023.
Dragon Age 4: Dreadwolf
The list will open with Dragon Age 4: Dreadwolf, which is a huge test for BioWare. I lack words to describe how much I hope that the Canadian team will return to its former form. And not only as a person who likes great RPGs with dozens of hours of fun, but also as a player fascinated by Mass Effect. It is even known that the potential financial failure of the new Dragon Age will really cause dark clouds to appear over BioWare, and the creation of a new Mass Effect will be a huge question mark. However, I am optimistic in this case, considering that this BioWare game has been in development for a really long time.
Hellblade 2
One of Microsoft’s certainties for the next calendar year is Hellblade 2. After a very warm reception of the first part of the adventures of the Celtic warrior, Ninja Theory has been developing Hellblade 2 for several years (taking care of such details as the exact place where bird poop fell on it). it is clear that it will be a very refined psychological horror that will also show Xbox Series X in a good light – technically speaking. The Xbox Game Studios team would have to try hard not to deliver the announced level of Hellblade 2.
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Thanks to Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team has the opportunity to enter the world league of developers. Konami trusted Polish creators of productions such as Layers of Fear or The Medium, and it must be admitted that a huge responsibility rests on the shoulders of local developers – after all, the Silent Hill series is the icing on the cake for many players from Europe and America. It’s no wonder that we’re so looking forward to the presentation of Silent Hill 2 Remake, which relatively recently appeared in the offers of electronics stores. This suggests not only the premiere in the coming months, but also the game presentation itself, and there may not be a better opportunity than TGA 2023 for a long time.
Rise of the Ronin
Sony will most likely not provide its own event this year, and many signs in the sky suggest that one of PlayStation’s titles for the next calendar year will be Rise of the Ronin. At first glance, the game is very reminiscent of Ghost of Tsushima, but since it is being developed by Team Ninja, a team known for example from the NiOh series, we can expect that the production will put more emphasis on clashes with opponents than Sucker Punch. . Currently, there is a lot of hype for games set in Asian territories, so in my opinion, Rise of the Ronin has a great chance of achieving great commercial success.
Vampire The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
The list will close with Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, which is, or at least has been, in development hell for the last few years. However, looking at Dead Island 2, even a production with the biggest problems may ultimately turn out to be a good product. In the latest materials, Bloodlines 2 looks like an atmospheric title, full of horror, secrets and twists – if the developers provide interesting gameplay combined with well-designed tasks, the “new representative of the World of Darkness” may surprise very positively.
